A first for a SHIMANO shoe, the new 360° surrounding upper wraps the foot in a supportive cocoon from the upper all the way around the outsole. Shimano overcame many material and engineering hurdles to create this revolutionary structure that creates a supremely engineered fit, unparalleled stability and lightweight performance for all riders.

Heel cup with anti-twist stabilization secures optimal foot positioning for intense acceleration and high tempo cadences. Anti-twist stabilizer is built to handle the intense twisting forces caused by explosive acceleration. Foot movement studies and pedaling visualizations to redesign the shoe’s structure to support more aggressive acceleration.

Function-specific zones and scientifically optimized upper materials maximize fit and pedaling performance. Reinforced mesh and Microfiber leather upper materials are arranged and layered in targeted performance zones to maximize fit, flexibility, rigidity and breathability. It took equal parts science and art to complete this engineering puzzle.
