You basically need this case if you're getting any of the Quad Lock mounts. The case however once taken out from the mount, has this slipper texture to it that may easily (for a lack of a better word) slip out of your hands. It would be fine if the case had paddings to cushion the fall. However the only protection it gives are the slight raise at the top and bottom of the case to prevent your screen from touching the surface when placed face down.
